A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! For the next 1/10th scale ARTFX+ Statue from the world of DC Comics Kotobukiya takes you back to the late 1800s and the peculiar tale of the Dark Knight tracking down Jack the Ripper. From one of the most famous and popular “Elseworlds” tales of alternate histories comes BATMAN GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT ARTIST FINISH VERSION! Written by Brian Augustyn with art by Mike Mignola, this unique take on Bruce Wayne was released in 1989 and garnered a sequel. While taking place in an older age, a Victorian era Batman still fights crime and the criminally insane in Gotham City, and now you can bring home one of the most distinctive looking statues of the hero ever produced!
Based on a watercolor painting that depicts Batman as he fights with Jack the Ripper in 19th century Gotham City, the Gotham by Gaslight ARTFX+ Statue Artist Finish Version recreates the hero in stunning detail. The Dark Knight crouches atop a tall pillar, surveying the city and waiting for his chance to strike. Batman wears a retro version of his signature costume complete with trousers and heavy boots, a gray shirt with black bat symbol, thick gloves, a fully stocked utility belt, a cloak-like cape, and a homemade cowl with tall “ears” and stitching across the forehead. Bruce kneels on one knee and leans forward to investigate, his hands held out front and back for balance as he prepares to leap into action. The sharp lines of the hero’s face, defined shadows, and pale colors are designed to resemble the artist’s original brush strokes, and they all come together for an unforgettable presentation! This is also the first vignette-style statue in the ARTFX+ series, adding a complex and highly detailed cityscape base to the Batman story. Sculpted by Junnosuke Abe (RESTORE), Batman Gotham by Gaslight is just over 12 ½ inches tall (1/10 scale) on his Victorian cityscape vignette. This Mike Mignola artist’s edition will look great in your display whether Batman stands alone or alongside other DC Comics ARTFX+ Statues from Kotobukiya!
